Meraki Performance Horses & Training

Offering lessons year around and training during the summer!

Lesson Program

Are you looking to elevate your riding skills, refine your horse’s performance, or build a strong foundation in western riding? Amelia offers high-quality instruction in barrel racing, pole bending, and basic western riding for riders ages 6 and up. Whether you’re a beginner just starting your journey or a seasoned competitor striving for 1D success, Amelia provides personalized coaching tailored to your individual goals.

About

With years of experience in rodeo and barrel racing, Amelia has multiple 1D rankings, open 1D wins, and rodeo experience in both Kentucky and California. She actively competes across Kentucky and stays deeply involved in the sport alongside many of her students. Her passion for training extends beyond the arena, focusing on both the rider’s and the horse’s development to create a balanced and successful team.

Comprehensive Coaching Approach

Amelia’s lessons go beyond the fundamentals of barrel racing and pole bending. She believes in developing a well-rounded equine athlete by prioritizing:

  • Performance Veterinary Care – Understanding your horse’s physical health, identifying potential issues, and maintaining soundness.
  • Equine Bodywork – Learning techniques to help keep your horse feeling their best, improving flexibility, muscle development, and recovery.
  • Proper Nutrition – Exploring feed programs, supplements, and hydration strategies that optimize performance.
  • Biomechanics & Conditioning – Developing correct movement patterns, balance, and strength to enhance speed, agility, and longevity.
  • Tack & Equipment Selection – Understanding how to properly fit and utilize saddles, bits, and other tools to maximize communication and comfort.
  • Mental Preparation & Strategy – Learning to mentally prepare for competition, develop confidence, and create a winning mindset.
