About the Owner

Amelia is currently a full time student at the University of Kentucky studying Equine science and Management. She also Vice President of the University of Kentucky Rodeo Team participating in both barrel racing and roping. 

She has an extensive background in the equine world for her age. She has experience in both the english and western worlds of riding. Her competitive career started with Gymkhanas in 2016 with the purchase of her first horse, from then on she moved into the barrel racing industry in 2017, and then to high school rodeo during the 2021-2022 season where she qualified for California state finals. she currently has the privilege of owning two incredible performance horses and competing at the intercollegiate level. 

Amelia achieved her ATS equine Acuscope and Myopulse certification in California at the end of 2022 with top instructor Mollys  Wells. Since then she's been expanding her knowledge through her classes within the equine science department at UK as well completing an online training course covering the optimization of equine performance and recovery which was instructed by Molly Wells. 

    Certification

    The ATS Electro- Acuscope and Myopulse professional certification is an intense 100+ hour course that taught how to utilize the FDA-approved Animal Calibrated Electro-Acuscope/Myopulse Therapy System. This is the most technologically sophisticated, micro-current therapy system available in the animal health care industry. 

    This course consisted of:

    • Learning the technology and history of the equipment.
    • Equine anatomy and physiology.
    • Understanding and interpreting the animal calibrated biofeedback system.
    • Specific protocols and treatments for optimizing performance and preventative programs, general maintenance for chronic conditions, to full rehabilitation programs.
    • How to optimize performance for horses in training through preventative care and maintenance.
    • How to care for animals with chronic conditions by slowing down the progression of the condition and providing a non-invasive pain management option.
    • How to accelerate the healing process through correct rehabilitation programs for a vast range of injuries.
    • How to properly work with veterinarians.
    • Learn how to utilize the biofeedback system with the animal calibrated instruments for evaluation purposes and for therapeutic monitoring of each session.
